The achievement here is a timepiece that squeezes the pleasing mechanical chimes reminiscent of a Grandfather Clock into the miniature real-estate of a wristwatch.
"If they were alive and 25 years old today, they would be on the quest for the next Holy Grail," says effusive CEO François-Henry Bennahmias of the two men who founded the company 139 years ago. "No matter how great their latest watch would be, the day after they would already be on the next one. It has always been part of who we are.Only for the Big Boys.

Boko Haram gunmen kill 15 in Nigeria’s northeast.

Boko Haram gunmen killed 15 people including a village leader near Maiduguri, the heartland of the Islamist group blamed for thousands of deaths in its six-year insurgency, security sources and residents said Saturday.
“The terrorists attacked Kambari village which is less than five kilometers to Maiduguri around 5:00 am. They killed 15 people and set the entire hamlet ablaze,” the security source who requested anonymity said of the attack on Friday.

“After fruitless efforts to enter Maiduguri through Konduga without success, the terrorists took a different route and attacked Kambari,” he said.
A woman from the village who simply gave her name as Kyallu said four of her children were among the dead.
“They killed four of my grown-up children when they attacked our village about the time for the morning prayers,” Kyallu, who is now in Maiduguri, told AFP.
“They shot my children dead without any prompting. I had to leave the village with my grandchildren because we have lost our houses,” she said. Maiduguri and its environs have been repeatedly attacked by the extremists who began their deadly insurgency to impose Sharia in the mainly-Muslim north in 2009.

Lack of Justice:Cairo court clears Mubarak brothers for release.

A Cairo court ordered the release of ousted President Hosni Mubarak’s two sons on Thursday, Reuters news agency reported.
While judicial sources said Jamal and Alaa Mubarak will not be freed until prosecutors review other cases they are involved in, lawyer Farid el-Deeb maintained that they are scheduled for release as there were not being tried in any other cases.
However, the Mubarak brothers do still face charges of stock market manipulation in a separate case, but in June 2013 a court ordered their release in that case.
Given that a court dropped other corruption charges against the sons in yet another case in November, it appeared there were no other cases preventing their release.
The Cairo Criminal Court said in a document explaining its ruling that the two men had already served the maximum permitted time of 18 months in pretrial detention and should therefore not be held pending their retrial in a corruption case.
The retrial was ordered by Egypt’s high court earlier this month. In May, his sons had been given four-year jail terms in the same case, while the 86-year-old former president received a three-year sentence.

Jonathan Wants Elections Postponed for 6 Months, INEC Says Elections Will Hold As Scheduled

Plans by President Goodluck Jonathan and his team to scuttle the general elections scheduled for February have come to light, with National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki openly calling for postponement of the elections.

Sambo spoke at a Chattam House lecture in London, offering the excuse that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not distributed Permanent Voters Cards across the country as was expected.
SaharaReporters had reported several months ago that President Goodluck Jonathan was reluctant to hold national elections because his popularity had dwindled considerably and he feared losing the election.

In the last few days, as the popularity of General Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency has grown, Mr. Jonathan has spent vast sums of money mobilizing people to call for the postponement of the elections.

Mali refuses to accept the body of Paris kosher deli terrorist Coulibaly.

Mali has refused to accept the body of terrorist Amedy Coulibaly in a sudden U-turn the day before he was expected to be buried in the soil of his birth country.
The gunman who murdered four hostages in a Kosher delicatessen as well as a policewoman was due to be buried in Bamako today; instead he remains in a fridge in the Forensic Institute in Paris.
Malian authorities have reportedly given no reason for the change of heart, which means Coulibaly is now likely to be buried somewhere in France.
The 32-year-old small-time dope dealer-cum-terrorist was gunned down by police as they raided the Hyper Cacher kosher supermarket in east Paris on January 9, the day police tracked down Charlie Hebdo massacre gunmen Chérif and Saïd Kouachi.
A day earlier he had shot dead a policewoman in the street and critically injured a street sweeper.Serves him right you say?

AUTO BLOG:McLaren 650S Le Mans: Black magic

Here's a top fact to wave around the pub next time you want to make friends*: in 1995, five McLaren F1 GTR models finished the Le Mans 24 hour race, finishing 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th

A near-enough lockout of the front, then. To celebrate this special achievement, McLaren's Special Operations division – those chaps responsible for this – have tarted up a 650S and called it the Le Mans edition.
It was even designed in consultation with Peter Stevens who, if you want another fact to wave around the pub to your new found friends*, was the designer of the original McLaren F1.

So, these accoutrements will be applied to just 50 Coupe versions of the 650S, and include a roof-mounted snorkel air intake (like the '95 cars), fully integrated, channeling air into the unchanged 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine (641bhp, 500lb-ft, zero to 62mph in three seconds, 207mph top speed).

McLaren also promises this new air duct provides "enhanced aural drama within the cabin".
Then there are the front wings with new louvers to reduce pressure over the front wheels and increase down force. The wheels themselves are 19in front, 20in back, lightweight and fashioned after the ones decked out on the 1995 race cars, wearing  Pirelli P-Zeros and hiding carbon ceramic brakes as standard with orange calipers. Lovely.Looks cool, doesn't it? Prices stand at £244,500 (a standard 650S Coupe starts at £195k), with deliveries commencing later this year. And if you buy one, you'll be invited to a special 20th anniversary celebration at Le Mans courtesy of McLaren. Only 50 will be made, so better get a move on.

Nigerian new mother registered British couple as her baby's parents 'in bid to get free NHS care.

Adenubi
A Nigerian mother allowed a British couple to register as her new baby's parents in bid to get free NHS care and secure a UK passport for the child, a court heard.
Oluwaseun Adenubi, 30, also pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation after using the passport of her friend, Rita Ogunkunle, 32, to obtain free medical care after giving birth to Moses.
Ogunkunle and her boyfriend Michael Adebambo, 46, registered the baby as theirs at Bromley Civic Centre the following day and have now pleaded guilty to giving false information.
Staff at Farnborough's Princess Royal University Hospital realised the medical records of Ogunkunle, who had received acne treatment, conflicted with the patient claiming to be her. After the baby was born on June 20 staff realised something was not right because Ogunkunle has severe scarring, which the baby's mother did not have and there were two different blood types for the same patient.'
Adenubi was granted a family visit visa which allowed her to stay in the UK for up to six months and claimed that she found Ogunkunle's passport on a bench, Croydon Crown Court heard.
But when Ogunkunle was arrested in August, she claimed Adenubi took her passport after moving into her spare room.Naija people i hail.
