Dirk Kuyt has revealed how he is overcome by emotion at the thought of returning
to play at Anfield for a day he thought he would never come.
The
34-year-old left the Reds for Fenerbahce in 2012, has accepted an
invitation to take part in an All-Star charity match on March 29
organised by the Liverpool Fc Foundation - with two teams captained by Reds homegrown heroes Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher,
Four years to the day that he scored his famous hat-trick against Manchester United
Liverpool fans favourite Kuyt said: “To get the call was very exciting
because I’ve never been back and it will be very special just to go back
to Liverpool, to see the people, to go back to Melwood and say ‘hello’
to everyone.
